What is Kinect? Kinect for Xbox 360, or simply Kinect, is a motion sensing input device by Microsoft for the Xbox 360 video game console. Based upon a webcam-style add-on peripheral for the Xbox 360 console, it enables users to control and interact with the Xbox 360 without the need to touch a game controller, through a natural user interface using gestures and spoken commands.
Connecting a keyboard to your Xbox One is simple. Just plug the keyboard into one of the USB ports on the console--either one of the two on the rear, or one on the left side, near the disc slot. If you have a wireless keyboard with a USB dongle, plug the USB dongle into your Xbox One. Your keyboard should immediately work.
To gain access to all of these features on Linux, however, it’ll take a bit of tinkering as Microsoft built the Kinect 2 with the Xbox One and Windows in mind. Fortunately, the community at OpenKinect have created open source drivers for us. The drivers gives us access to the RGB and Depth functionalities of the Kinect 2.
G'day JB! If you unhooked your entire Xbox One console and the sound issue kept going, then the Kinect sensor likely isn't the cause. Check your cables to make sure everything is plugged in securely for watching TV, and maybe try a new cable to connect your TV to your cable/set top box since you're not using the console's HDMI pass-through.
Set the FramesPerTrigger property of the VIDEOINPUT objects to '100' to acquire 100 frames per trigger. In this example 100 frames are acquired to give the Kinect for Windows sensor sufficient time to start tracking a skeleton. colorVid.FramesPerTrigger = 100; depthVid.FramesPerTrigger = 100; % Start the color and depth device.
KINECT POWER SUPPLY The Kinect I am using in this project has its own power supply attached to the USB cable. I bough this as a stand-alone without the XBOX. Some Kinects don't have an external power supply and get their power from the XBOX. If you have one of those, you will need to buy a Microsoft Kinect power supply which seems overpriced.
The Kinect for Xbox One uses an L-shaped proprietary connector with two internal slots. Connecting it to the PC requires using a more elaborate adapter with two connection boxes: one that converts it into USB-A and a DC power input, and a separate AC transformer block.

I've gone through issues with the thing connecting, tracking for 10-30 seconds, and immediately disconnecting. I've had issues trying to diagnose and fix my problems, since a lot of the Kinect restarting issue threads were aimed for normal usage with the Xbox One, or I found help threads with no conclusive answer.
Today I got my Kinect V2 in an attempt to make a budget 3d scanner it didn't work out too well but thought I would still make a video encase anyone else is c
